|
REACH+ uses classroom-based learning through student workbooks, combined with web-based learning. Whether you have access to a computer room or not, the programme works well in all settings and is fully mobile compatible.
- In a classroom setting, the REACH+ programme can be run successfully using a whiteboard and the workbook
- Where IT facilities allow it, REACH+ can be run entirely online
- Or, using the workbook in a standard classroom setting, where students complete the online work at home or on their smart phones / tablets.
Optimal use of the programme is realised when both the handbook and online tools are utilised. The programme showcases the students career research and learning. It encourages class interaction, co-operative learning and reactive thinking.

Unique Student Digital Career Portfolio
REACH+ is an engaging online workspace where students complete research and capture their progress through a series of activity based and reflective apps. This information is readily accessible to both the student and Guidance Counsellor at any time. The student is afforded a platform to set goals and targets, and save items of interest into a 'MyFavourites' area, building a collection of career and education research across senior cycle. Students are encouraged to reflect on their learning and engagement with the programme.
A students’ progress over a range of topics can be easily monitored and feedback provided online. Customised reports can be viewed, printed or emailed for individuals as required.
Below is a screen shot of a standard online Student Digital Career Portfolio. You can see that it mirrors the handbook and is divided into the same six main areas:

Unique Features of REACH+
Personalised reports for each student
Each student can have a personalised report printed out based on the work and research they have completed on the REACH+ Programme. These reports are generated instantly and are ideal to share at one to ones, parent teacher meetings or for emailing to parents.
Guidance Notes and Appointments Scheduling System
A comprehensive online guidance notes area is included in REACH+ which allows you to maintain key information and records of communication with each student. Helpful prompts are listed which correspond to each app so you can note easily which students are, for example, applying to DARE or have a language exemption. Reports can also be generated based on this information. You can manage your busy appointments schedule of one to one meetings with students via a simple online booking system.
Online Feedback Facility & Messaging System
Reach+ facilitates easy communication between the GC and students. Administrators can provide feedback directly on the work that students have completed on their online portfolio. Individual students and class groups can also be contacted directly allowing communication to occur seamlessly via the REACH+ Messaging platform.
Customising your Programme
The online programme includes a facility enabling administrators to tailor the Student Career Portfolio to include only those Apps appropriate to their particular school programme. So TY students, for example, can access a different set of Apps to LC students, or even LCVP students.
Sharing Files through REACH+ with Students and Parents
Important documents / PowerPoints / worksheets / videos up to 120MB can be shared with students at the click of a button through REACH+ and at the same time also made available for parents on the dedicated guidance webpage.
REACH+ Network File Share
This unique facility allows you to share files (e.g. powerpoints, word documents, PDFs etc.) in a central network with your guidance colleagues across the country.
